experience of mom making day

Making momo

Due to ISA(International School Award) we class 8 students got a chance to make Momo. Momo is south asian dumpling. It is a stuffed dumpling. Making it in home was not much fun but preparing it with friends and teachers made it so much interesting and fun. We got to know the process of preparing it it.
We were preparing it for the whole school including teaching staffs, non-teaching staafs, students. We had to make it for about 463 persons. So, on the very first day we discussed about it and divided our work in 4 groups. On the other day we collected money from everyone and went to buy ingredients needed for preparing momo in the local market of ganesthan. All of us brought utensils which was required
for preparing it. On the same day we cutted the vegetables and prepared dough because we were preparing momo on the next day. And finally on the next day we were making. On that day while i came to school all of my friends had arrived and started making it. Then, I too joined them and helped in preparing it. Our teachers were instructing us. All of us were busy doing different works. Some of us were cooking, washing utensils, mixing kima, etc. After it was cooked we started distributing it to everyone. Because we were not habituated it was prepared little late. Some of us were really hungry so we ate some momos hiding with our teachers. It was fun hiding and eating it. Then momo making was finished in about 4:20.
I would like to thank our teachers Deepak sir, Khem sir, Kamal sir, Aarati Mam for giving is a chance to make momo. I would also like to thank my school for leeting us organize this program. Participating in this program was really fun. We got to know about different things.

We altogether eight students with three teachers went to buy lactogen. We bought 18 packets from the shop. The remaining 7 packets out of 25 was bought later by teacher. After that, we gave this information to our classmates.

Distributing Lactogen:
We distributed lactogen to the volunteers of that organization (Nepal Children Organization). There were children from 2 months to 19 years. We distributed chocolates to small children. Clothes like woolen caps, socks etc. for small children brought by Binu Mam were provided to them on her effort. After distribution, we interviewed the volunteer and went back to school.

Throughout this activity, we got to know the importance of parents. I feel as I am the luckiest person to get love and support from my parents. We eradicate our sincere gratitude to our project teachers for giving us this opportunity to help the orphanage. The labor and hard work we did was properly utilized. We are proud and glad to provide support to an organization as well as an orphanage.

Not only this much, we too planned to include and prepare international food with recipe and serve to all 8 graders and non-teaching and teaching staffs. After doing long research of international dishes, we selected Chole Bhature as our international dish. Here is given short description about Chole Bhature:-

Chole Bhature is a combination of two dishes coupled together to become a great delicacy of North India. Chole is the chick peas which is prepared in a spicy concoction and is coupled with Bhature which is fried bread made of maida flour. The origin of Chole seems to be from Punjab while the dish is relished a lot in North India. The dish is served with pickle and onions and also, lassi is thought to be the best companion of the dish. This dish is similar to poori tarkari.

The dish is available in almost all eating places in North India and also on street vendors. The dish can also be prepared at home in a healthier and less-oily manner and also the bhature can be made filled with potato, cottage cheese etc. the dish is considered for a heavy breakfast, Chole Bhature is a great treat for college students who enjoy this delicious dish greatly.

Some of the amount we expended for preparation of Chole Bhature are-:

1) Departmental Store=Rs 2765
2) Vegetables= Rs 250
3) Curd= Rs 100
4) Masala= Rs 80
5) Catering= Rs 690
6) Plastic materials= Rs 330

  Total amount = Rs 4215

We with the great help and support of Aarati Mam made Chole Bhature quickly and in convenient manner. Like the preparation of mo:mo it was not difficult. We smoothly and successfully completed the preparation of Chole Bhature. This dish was really very tasty and healthy too. Rather, all students and staffs added this dish once or more than that. This dish is very appealing. That's why we will try this recipe at home as well.

TEEJ
Teej is a greatest festival of Hindu women. This festival is the time for making wish for either married or unmarried women.According to Hindu mythology, parvati, the daughter of himalaya parvat, had observed fasting on this day and performed puja on the shivalinga. she wanted lord shiva as her husband.it is said that that she had women for the longivity of their husband life.so,the teej signifies a happy every-lasting married life.on the heart of lord shiva because of her devotion and accepted her as his wife.for this significant reason, the unmarried girls observe this festival to get suitable husband in their life and married w

on this day, women take a heavy meal contaning various items. They eat special dish called DAR at midnight because in the next whole day they have to spend without taking a drop of water also. Not   only female members but also all the family member enjoy DAR in the home.On the second day, women fast throughout the day even without drinking water. During the time of festival, the married women are called back from their in-LAWS home by parents and brother to celebrate it together.

the fifth of the day after full moon day of bhadra is celebrated rishi panchami. On this day also women fast throughout the day and perform puja in the evening. They generally worship sapta rishi. The girls after their mensuration period are allowed to perform it on this very day. They take both early in the morning in the nearest river. It is said that on this day women should clean their body 360 times. They even brush their teeth with 360 piece of wood called Datiwan .They wear red coloured saries. This festival itself has many religious and culture significance. But in the time of celebration,it is essential to be conscious for women so that they can celebrate it in a proper way without any loss of jewelleries and other during their gathering.
